What do I need to bring with me if I need assistance?

When coming to The Foundation for any type of assistance you will need a picture ID with your current address. Most requests for financial assistance must first be made with the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS). If you are requesting financial assistance for a utility payment, you will need to bring a copy of your shut off notice AND your DHS Decision Notice. All financial requests need a bill or a statement from the vendor.

How Much Does it Cost?
There is no cost for food, clothing, furniture and household goods. It is our mission to share what we have. Only at the May and September Garage Sales are items available for purchase.

How Often Can I Go?
In order to assist as many people as possible, The Foundation asks that residents use the Food Pantry and Clothing departments no more than twice per month. Financial needs are evaluated in an interview process on a case by case basis. In the interim, The Foundation strives to connect you with other local organizations.

Need Furniture?
Furniture comes and goes very quickly. Call ahead (947-2055) to see if what you need is something we have in our ever-changing inventory. We ask that clients take no more than 2 pieces of furniture every six months.
