Q & A

Restoring hopeĀ for our clients.

Whom does the Father Fred Foundation serve?
The Father Fred Foundation strives to serveĀ residents of the Grand Traverse region (Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau Counties) who have an emergency need. If the individual or family has exhausted all state and/or federal assistance, the Foundation is committed to doing what it can to help the situation. Many who come to the Foundation have a temporary crisis due to unforeseen circumstances. One visit to the Foundation can be the boost that makes all the difference.

Is the Father Fred Foundation a Catholic organization?
No. The Foundation is a public charity, not a religious organization. The Foundation is named after its founder, Father Edwin Frederick, a Catholic Priest, but there have never been any formal ties to the Catholic Church. People of all faiths serve and are served at the Foundation.

Who is in charge of the Father Fred Foundation?

The Foundation is a tax-exempt charity governed by a volunteer Board comprised of a number of compassionate community representatives. The Board is committed to exemplary stewardship of all of its resources. Day-to-day administration falls to our Executive Director.
